How important is your 'type'

You know how everyone has a type.. everyone generally goes for this one kind

Some boys find themselves tall blondes, while others like the short cute ones..

Some girls like the well tall built men, while others might like the boy next door look.

Infact after a while, your type becomes very obvious to your friends, and they just know which girl or guy would you go for in a lot.

Me: I dont think I can ever like this boy
Bff: Really wow
Me: He is your type, I know you think he is kinda good looking
Bff: Ummm yeah.. I have a type?
Me: Yup, he looks exactly like what you have liked before.. lol
Bff: Haha.. I have a type

The question is .."How important is the type?"

Sometime you do it without knowing, and sometimes you have these set rules. You know what you want in a boy/girl, and more than that you know what you absolutely don't want, and you will do everything in your power to not get into anything with the person because..well.. he/she has what you don't want, so even that attraction that you are seeing is not enough.

I never thought I had a type till recently, although it has changed over the years but there still is a type that I have. And unfortunately even I can't seem to get myself out it.

I never made an effort to have a type, but I guess I do. In fact I think what you don't want in a person overpowers you so much, that you are ready to not even go for some one who you are really comfortable with..

Me: She is cute, I think she likes you
He: Yeah I think she is cute
Me: So what's the prblem?
He: She is not my type
Me: She is a pretty girl, what's with the type man
He: She is ummm... not tall enough
Me: Are you serious? You will let this one go because she is not tall enough
He: I know I will have issues with that, so why get into it

Sigh!! Seriously, people always say that they are open to thing, but I don't think so. I know what kind of people I will not go for either, and even if he is the sweetest, somethings are unfortunately a turn off.

Infact my ex thought I was not his type, that's why he never wanted to get things going with me..lol..

So yeah.. type is very important, and I wonder how many people actually over come it

I don't know you anymore

I don't know how many of you are really Savage Garden fans, but I really liked them.

Their album Affirmation is one of my all time favorites. I know all the songs, and they just make sense :)

One of my favorite songs is "I dont know you anymore." And the lyrics down here, are just priceless.

Because I dont know you anymore
I dont recognize this place
The pictures frame have changed, and so has your name
We dont talk much anymore
We keep running from the pain
But what I wouldn't give to see your face again

Springtime in the city
Always such relief from the winter freeze
Snow was more lonely from the winter freeze
If you know what I mean
Everyones got an agenda dont stop
Keep that chin up you'll be alright
Can you believe what a year its been
Are you still the same
Has your opinion changed

Such emotions in their songs. It's really sad that they seperated. I was "truly madly and deeply" in love with their songs.

Does this count as flirting?

Me: Hey, so I guess this is it
He: Yeah, I can't believe summer is almost over, and I am done here
Me: Gonna miss it?
He: May be, we'll see
He (again): We never got a chance to talk a lot
Me: Well, you were only in on Fridays
He: Yeah true, I hope we can stay in touch
Me: Obviously ya, I'll facebook you
He (with the most awesome smile on his face, said some thing that for some reason I did not hear, too busy looking at the smile may be?)
He: II am gonna go now
He: Bye
He: See you soon
He: Byeeee
Me: Good Luck!!

Sigh! I don't know whether this was flirting or not, but if this was, I love it :) the only boy I actually actually wanted to flirt with since day one..lol

Fun stuff!!

This healthy, no take home mind stressing, just talking stuff is awesome.

Learn to be happy for him

I talked about certain rules in my last post. And I very well think they are true, but if you happen to be in an exception situation which only works one way, you need to learn some things so that you can let go..

If you fell so hard for someone, then obviously there is something about him that makes him so special, something that made you fight for him, something that made it what it was. And if on top of that there was a strong friendship too, then you know he is not that bad after all, if he decided to be with some one else.

It hurts, it does hurt, obviously, there is hurt, but learn to be happy for him. I am not trying to sound selfless, or over believer, but if he meant so much, it is important to see him happy.

Easier said than done I know, but trust me if you can do that, you will be happy too. You don't need to talk to him or keep in touch, but you don't have to wish bad things either, because that will just undo everything you shared. People mess up, that's all about being human, and realizing that is important. Important so that you can let go, and move on.

Think like this, if he is happy, and he has own life, he will never need you again, and you will never fall back into it. You will not need to put an effort in staying away, because he is doing that for you, and on top of everything you don't need to worry about him because there is someone else to do that.

You might think, "Why would I worry if he did that to me," well because if you loved him, caring does not go away till you see someone else doing it and being sure he is ok.

So fellow girl friends, learn to be happy for him, because was that not the point initially seeing him happy made you happy? He has someone else, and you don't have to worry about something you fought for single handily, is that not a good thing?

Is there love?

If you have ever seen, "He is just not that into you", you know the theory behind the rule and the exceptions. After seeing things around me, and being through some things myself, I have figured out certain rules, and barely found exceptions to them.

Rules
  1. Love is described by comfort in today's day and age. As soon as your self interest get attacked, people leave people
  2. Love is also a matter of convenience. It's a lonely world, and you need someone to be with you not because you love them, because .. well... it's just convenient
  3. People don't believe in fighting for love, which you some times have to. Again the comfort factor comes into play

Those rules are very true. I am sure there are exceptions to it, but I can never really see them. I am very well the rule, and honestly I do not even want to be the exception, because I think I end up fighting alone, which is also not very good.

So friends, remember to aim for the rule, may be you are the exception, but aiming for it will just give you false hopes.

FYI -- this is not a sad post. I am just stating the facts. It's how the world works :)

Reid Rosenthal

I have mentioned Reid before. And if anyone ever reads that, they know who Reid is. He is the 3rd runners up on the bachelorrette, and I just can't stop thinking of him.

There are a couple of reasons for that:
  1. I am single, and very much unoccupied by any thoughts of any boy

  2. He seemed genuine on the show

  3. He lives in Philly, very reachable

  4. His office is in Rittenhouse square, a block away from where I work

  5. Whenever Jillian let him go, or faced him she couldn't let go of him, and that is kinda..ummm.. amazing

As much as I know I will probably never meet him, I really want to. I wish I just run into him on the street once, and tell him, I adore him. I have not stopped thinking about him since the season finale, and my infatuation knows no bounds as of right now.

And yes, I am also one of those who does not truly want him to be the next bachelor (even though my brains say that should happen), because well, I think I would like to meet him first.
